Join us for a conversation with Ferdinando Verderi the visionary Creative Director who is responsible for some of the most iconic moments in fashion advertising and editorial’s recent memory. Recognized for his radical approach to ideas, Verderi’s work is known for the creative partnerships with Prada, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Stone Island, as well for as his era-defining tenure at Vogue Italia. This is a rare chance to discuss the creative process behind the work of one the most influential art directors of this generation. In less than a decade since his start in the industry, Verderi’s creativity has been instantly injecting the possibility for new ways of integrating conceptual thinking into a highly visual industry, channeling some of the fastest shifting industry paradigms, such as the idea of community as a medium. During his 2 years tenure as Vogue Italia creative director, Verderi redefined the magazine with a number of audacious issues that shifted industry standards, from the first-ever all-illustrated issue to spotlight sustainability, followed by a cover left completely blank in 2020 as a symbol of silence during Italy’s lockdown. His “100 Covers” project celebrated 100 individual stories, setting a new benchmark for inclusivity. Verderi’s campaigns for Prada challenged some of the most establish dynamics by pioneering new methods of brand expression. His first campaign in 2020 launched not only magazines but with visual wrapped around flowers in hundreds of flowers in shops worldwide. Soon after, a campaign appeared in the form of in a Sothebys benefit auction, and yet again, another campaign posed questions to users inviting them to answer on the brand platforms. These are only a few of an ongoing series of projects that mark one of the most experimental ongoing art direction collaboration today. Verderi style of thinking was also behind the Louis Vuitton x Yaioi Kusama collaboration global campaign, a multilayered effort that was recognized as the largest ever partnership between a brand and an artist and that broke every record in terms of scale.
