Kids Muay Thai self defence class “Back to school”

24 Sep, 10:00 AM–11:00 AM  ·  Greenwich

Event details

Don’t miss out this unique opportunity to join a FREE Muay Thai boxing workshop for kids held by a professional fighter @jonathanucq5 🥊 Capacity is for 12 children , age 8+ (slightly younger kids might be allowed to join if they show strong interest in combat sports). It will take place at the Bandstand in Greenwich park. So bring your own kids, nephews, nieces, godchildren 🤼 Jonnie is amazing at keeping kids engaged during his classes (my son loves them). Whilst the kids are busy, we can chat about how else we can develop our kids in a fun and mindful way. Muay Thai is known as the sign of eight limbs, it's composed of eight different weapons, all of which are used in self-defense, these weapons are punches, knees, kicks, and elbows. The core values that Jonnie demonstrates and instills in young people are: 1. Hardwork 2. Discipline 3. Teamwork 4. Fun Jonnie was previously a professional fighter, and began Muay Thai twelve years ago, he has been coaching Muay Thai for the past ten years, and has been mentoring and coaching kids for seventeen years. This includes young people who have a wide range of physical and mental disabilities. Before the pandemic Jonnie was working alongside The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and his team using Muay Thai to tackle and help reduce Knife crime in London. He now continues to run his personal training business at The Commando Temple in Deptford alongside running his successful Muay Thai program where he has over 30 kids and young people a week enrolled in his classes.
