It’s the last day of November and winter is literally coming here any second!❄️ Just look outside: it’s doom & gloom in London, and many of us are craving warmth now more than ever 🫶 So I had an idea ‘Why not give each other what we all want?’ Can you remember when was the last time someone did something kind for you? ❤️ I hope you won’t need to think too hard. Even remembering this act of kindness will make you feel better. In fact, there is a recent study that proved you can lift heavier weights if you’ve just thought of something kind you’ve done to someone else 😳🏋️ There is lots of evidence revealing the benefits kindness does to your mental and physical health, your levels of productivity increase and what’s even more incredible is that these benefits stay with you for some time afterwards. An act of kindness does wonders to both recipient and giver. In fact, the positive effects stay a bit longer for a giver (perhaps because such kind acts become a habit?) But kindness has a bit of a PR problem, it gets sometimes misinterpreted as weakness or softness whilst the reality is quite the opposite. It boosts your inner strength and confidence 💪 Especially as you might want to come out of your comfort zone and face strangers. We often fear to be laughed at or being misunderstood but statistics tells us that in most case these fears are groundless! I invite you to be a kindness switcher for people around you today (and hopefully beyond) as I often find it’s easier to act on something clear, precise and easily available rather than on something vague in the future. Pick your 5 acts and go out and do them in real life, we can share our ideas in the chat when you join 💛 Act of kindness is anything from buying a cup of coffee for a person behind you in the queue, making a complement to a stranger, speaking to a relative/friend who you rarely talk to these days to volunteering/donating and heroic acts like saving someone’s life. Small acts are so so valuable, it really doesn’t need to be anything big but it can make someone’s day rather special 🥰 Let’s make kindness viral! 🤩 I was inspired by Claudia Hammond and her conversation with Dr Rangan Chatterjee ✌️
