Hey - I’m Yuru, the founder of Hey! Food is Ready. We are an online marketplace connecting independent chefs from different cultural backgrounds with companies looking for a diverse selection of catering options. So far, we work with over 100 chefs representing more than 60 cultures, with us, you can find the most authentic food for your event - from Brazilian food to Ethiopian food. 🌍✈️ Working on this journey for the past two and a half years, I found that it was hard to make friends outside of work. I met many people through networking events, but people always kept their guard up, trying to separate professional contacts from personal ones. Most of the people we met at those events, we never hung out with again. But when I was part of incubators and accelerators, and engaging with people on a more regular basis, I made some lifelong friends. So…I'm planning to build a founder friendship community where we host a supper club every month alongside our group of chefs. Each month, we will select a different cuisine, giving you the chance to try the food and learn about a different food culture. At each supper club, you will meet seven other startup founders, discussing a specific area of business. Then, we'll set business aside for a bit to make friends and build new connections. Starting a new business is a lonely journey, but we are here to support each other. :)
