The Drop-off : From Education to Art World

18 Mar, 6:00 PM–9:00 PM  ·  St James's

Event details

Step into the historic vaults of The National Gallery for an evening of thought-provoking art, engaging conversation, and a glass of bubbles 🥂 as we celebrate the opening of Fé Collective’s latest exhibition. 📅 Private View: Tuesday, March 18 ⏰ Time: 6:30 - 9:00 PM 📍 Location: 6-11 Suffolk St, Trafalgar Sq, SW1Y 4HG 🎟 RSVP Essential Inspired by Bell Hooks' words, "The act of creating is the act of becoming," this exhibition spotlights six remarkable artists and navigates the stark ‘drop-off’ that female artists face when transitioning from art school to the professional art world. Despite women making up the majority of creative postgraduates, male artists still dominate commercial galleries. The Drop-Off opens a space for dialogue, reflection, and change. The evening will be an opportunity to immerse yourself in contemporary art while enjoying an intimate setting in one of London’s most atmospheric and exclusive venues. The curators of the exhibition will be present to answer questions, share insights, and guide you through the works, making this not just an exhibition but a unique learning experience. Whether you’re a seasoned collector, an emerging artist, or just beginning to explore the art world, we’re building an open and welcoming community where everyone can engage with contemporary art. Join us for an evening of fine art, great conversation, and a glass of something sparkling. We look forward to welcoming you! ✨
