Event details
Join us for this classic walk in the South Downs National Park. This is one of the most magnificent and justifiably well-known 13-mile walk along the South Downs way. This is the classic version of the Seven Sisters starting from Seaford Station to Eastbourne along the white chalk cliffs via Cuckmere Haven, Birling Gap and Beachy Head. We will follow the sea cliffs to Cuckmere Haven taking in the classic view of the Seven Sisters then continuing on before ascending the first the seven sisters before descending the seventh to reach Birling Gap where we will stop to look at the informative exhibition on view in the visitors centre and a take a rest, break and picnic lunch on the grass slopes looking down on Birling Gap. Leaving Birling Gap we continue along the cliffs past Belle Tout Lighthouse and then Beachy Head before descending down to Eastbourne where we will take a rest and have some refreshments. Direct trains to London, Hastings, Lewes and Brighton.
