Event details
Farmacy presents an evening with Dan Kittredge, founder of the Bionutrient Institute. Join us to sharpen your understanding of the foundations of nature and how human and plant nutrition are inextricably linked. This exclusive event offers a rare opportunity to engage with Dan, who typically resides in Maine, USA, in a community setting conducive to learning and inspiration. Delicious bites will be offered by Farmacy and drinks by MOMO Kombucha. What if we told you that nutrient-dense crops are the byproducts of well functioning biological systems? That the effect of flavourful food is health? That nutrient density isn’t connected to farm size, variety or climate — but is tightly linked to another variable? That climate change is a plant life problem? Dan Kittredge, founder of the Bionutrient Institute, is on a mission to increase quality in the food supply. Beginning his career as an organic farmer 30 years ago, Dan sought to understand the plants he grew from first principles. Scrutinising the most fundamental elements of biological systems, Kittredge asked at every step, “How did nature evolve things to work?” His enquiry led him away from conventional organic wisdom and towards a relentless insistence on deep nutrition and the bottom of the food chain — focusing on raising microbes over plants or animals. The sweeping vision he developed allows us to understand health in soil, plant, humanity and planet by the same scientific principles Dan Kittredge will be introduced by Patrick Holden, founder and CEO of the Sustainable Food Trust, and Aurora Solá, Farmacy’s director of cultural impact. This event is open to professionals and general audiences. No specialist knowledge is required to attend and participate. @farmacyuk Tickets are non-refundable unless we are able to reallocate your place. Please contact us at [email protected] if you are no longer able to join us.
