WHAT: I wrote two plays about the war in Ukraine to. We’re hosting informal readings to raise money for the war relief effort. One of these plays has had a public reading at the Drama League of New York, as well as Leeds Playhouse and Bradford’s Kalasangam Arts Centre in UK. WHERE: The readings will be held at Baron’s court theatre which is a very small basement theatre under a pub. SYNOPSIS OF PLAYS: “a short guide to staying alive”: London. Four lawyers sit down to dinner. One of them comes from a part of the world that no longer exists. Secrets and lies unravel between the warmongers and the war-torn. This is a dark comedy exploring the nature of personal identity and survival in the toughest of times. “Return to Sender” Ukraine (or anywhere). Modern Days. Mercenaries capture two female resistance fighters with horrific consequences for the women, and for themselves. This drama is an impassioned plea for empathy and understanding of our shared, flawed, humanity. TICKET PRICE: £10 Everyone is working pro bono and all donations will go to the victims of the war.
