Event details
Have you always wanted to work on your sketching, drawing and painting skills? Do you love the idea of having created your own sketchbook filled with wonderful art? Or are you simply looking for the mental health benefits of putting pen to paper everyday and creatively expressing yourself! Whatever the reason, and whatever the level, I thought it would be nice for us to come and draw together during INKTOBER! For those unfamiliar, inktober is an art challenge during the month of October where we are to draw one sketch a day using prompts, and share it online. We will be taking this premise and tweaking it. We will share our work with each other, we can use any medium to draw or paint with and at the end, we can meet up to show our sketchbooks to each other irl! If there are questions you have on how to improve, we can advise each other on materials and techniques. This is about experimentation and to note some improvement in your personal style by the end of the month! I used to draw a lot and now I never seem to find time. However, the one thing I know for sure is that drawing is a skill that can be improved with repeated practice. We will follow the official prompts set up by inktober - however, these are just prompts and you can go in anyway you want with them. The only rule I say is that everyone has to sketch at the least 10minutes everyday - no matter if you only had time for a doodle or sat for hours with a whole painting. Consistency and daily routine is key to improvement here! At the end of the month, we can meet up and show each other our sketchbooks! How cool would that be! I made the group now so people can start preparing a sketchbook and materials ahead of time! Happy drawing!!
