Event details
In 2014 Aurora became the first orchestra in history to perform a whole classical symphony entirely from memory, without sheet music or music stands. The results were electrifying. With no barriers between players and audience members, performing by heart unlocked a unique sense of communication and spontaneity, as well as a host of new theatrical possibilities. For this special event, Aurora for the first time combines the potential of an orchestra playing from memory with the vast scale of the Printworks Press Halls to give a uniquely immersive experience of Beethoven’s Symphony No 7. Experience the thrill of a symphony from inside and get up close to the orchestra’s players as they perform in ways that would be impossible in a concert hall: ‘exploded’ across the vast Press Halls; moving in procession; performing in darkness. This event will offer a completely fresh and revelatory take on Beethoven’s music. https://printworkslondon.co.uk/event/aurora-orchestra
