About club
Join my book club to discuss 📚 over ☕️,🍵 or 🍷either via zoom or in person in the parks/cáfes once the UK rules permit. The first 📖 to kick off the activities is “Anna Karenina Fix. Life Lessons from Russian Literature” by Viv Groskop, a British journalist and comedian. It’s a “part literary primer, part memoire and part self-help manual” which shows the answers to life’s questions can be found in Russian literature and explores similarities of Oprah Winfrey to Leo Tolstoy, among other topics. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve already read the works of the Russian classics or have them on your bucket list still, anyone can join, as “Groskop has a knack of giving you just enough biography of the author, just enough tantalising kiss-and-tell detail from the works…[it’s] a delightful primer and companion to all the authors.” In the end,we can wrap up the 📖 by going to a Russian restaurant in London to celebrate the British author and the Russian classics over the classic Russian cuisine📚🎉
