Event details
When I created this event series back in September, I simply wanted to bring friends together to paint and talk! I'm so happy and moved to share that the event has become a safe space for amazing souls to open up about their stories, their personal troubles and use different mediums of art to express themselves! Join the art fam this Monday and learn how to make beautiful creations on wood slices using a woodburner tool! When I first saw these wood creations, I was immediately drawn to them! Looking at that tree trunk slice gave me a feeling of calmness. Looking at the art displayed "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" made me think: "How beautiful!". And then I realized that the wood had been burned to make this, indeed, beautiful design. If it wasn't for these "burns", these scars, it would be just another tree trunk slice. Our scars - both mental and physical- are part of who are are, our story. Maybe we allowed someone to carve them on us, maybe someone carved them on us without them even realizing it. This Monday, I invite you to think of your "scars" -focusing on the mental ones- and re-write the story. How did they make you beautiful? How did they make you the awesome wonder you are today? What did they teach you under a positive lense? This Monday at 7 pm at my house near USC!
