Ambi Matharu

I’m a British-Indian artist born and raised in Hong Kong, now living and studying in the UK. Based in London but currently studying in bath, I have spent a long time focusing on themes of identity in my work, incorporating elements of my culture alongside influences from the places I’ve called home. I have always loved to paint and draw. Having grown up and intersected with spaces that don’t appreciate this in the same way as academic achievements, a main aim of mine is to highlight the importance of the arts, while continuing to draw influences from those spaces into my own work.
